With a dedicated and expert sales team, led by Tom Absalom and supported by skilled butchers, we cut carcass lamb, beef, pork, mutton, goat and veal, and supply an array of boxed meats. 

Absalom and Tribe provide a refrigerated delivery service five days a week which firmly cements us as an important partner with our customers. 

In addition, we have continually implemented and embraced the most stringent regulations to ensure a modern, clean and safe production and delivery process.

Our History

Began Trading 1976
John Absalom begins trading as John Absalom Limited
And Tribe 1977
Originally trading in lamb and pork, John Absalom is joined by Bob Tribe in 1977 and together they expand the business to include beef. 
Limited Company 1980
 Formation of Absalom and Tribe Ltd. 
Smithfield Market 1995
Absalom and Tribe Ltd moves to brand new premises at the newly modernised state of the art Smithfield Meat Market.  Smithfield Market becomes a world leader and sets the benchmark in terms of what a modern market should be, complying with both national and European standards. 

Expansion 2007
 Absalom and Tribe acquires H&C Meats (Smithfield) Ltd. 
Merger 2017
 Merger of Absalom and Tribe Ltd and H&C Meats (Smithfield) Ltd offering customers a full range of best quality lamb, beef, pork, veal, mutton, goat, game, poultry, charcuterie and provisions.

At Absalom and Tribe we enjoy forging and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, thereby ensuring our customers get exactly what they require. We have an enviable list of quality suppliers, including some of the best abattoirs and meat processors in the UK, Ireland, Belgium, Holland, France and Spain.
